New Feature at UNIPLAT: "Pre-IP Proof" Enables Protection of Intellectual Property Rights with Blockchain Technology
UNIPLAT's new feature "Pre-IP Proof" will be launched on Friday, January 14, 2022!
Pre-IP (read: Pre-IP) stands for "Pre-Intellectual Property (intellectual property rights at the know-how and idea stage prior to public application)", a term coined by UNIPLAT. Researchers and entrepreneurs register their R&D content (images, videos, texts, etc.) published on the platform as Pre-IP, and UNIPLAT performs third-party authentication (creation date and time, creator, creation content, etc.) of that content using blockchain smart contract technology. The Pre-IP certificate will be issued after third-party authentication (creation date and time, creator, creation content, etc.) by UNIPLAT.
It has been extremely difficult for researchers and entrepreneurs to disclose and post their R&D results and projects on social networking sites such as YouTube and Twitter in order to seek financial and business support, because it is not possible to properly protect such information. Pre-IP is the first and only blockchain-based technology that allows users and entreprenuers to share their research and development results with the public.
Pre-IP uses blockchain smart contract technology to provide third-party proof of disclosed information, thereby protecting intellectual property rights when disclosing information to the public through social networking services, which was not possible in the past. In other words, the disclosed information can be safely disclosed to the public by preventing information theft and unauthorized secondary use, as the information is certified as the researcher's or entrepreneur's own information, even before public application and rights acquisition.
On the other hand, since it is certified as Pre-IP that the potential supporter, such as a company or research institution, has independently developed and maintains the content at the stage of considering support, the potential supporter can safely provide support (donation) or request for collaboration with the potential supporter.
The Pre-IP function is located in the researcher's or entrepreneur's "My Lab" (a one-stop page where each person's profile and information can be viewed), and the certificate is also disclosed on that page for all platform users including companies and research institutions to check.
